“It has been both a privilege and a pleasure to serve our clients, and I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in Jensen’s growth over the last 22 years,” said Schoenstein. “Our firmwide commitment to culture, people, client service and an unwavering focus on high-conviction investing in quality companies will remain the hallmarks of Jensen far beyond my retirement. I am confident that the legacy Val Jensen began building back in 1988 is as strong as ever and will continue to serve our clients well into the future.”
Since the firm’s inception 35 years ago, Jensen has been managed by a team of experienced business professionals, each of whom maintains an ownership interest in the firm. Succession planning has always been an important component of the firm. The investment discipline and every key business process have been institutionalized to ensure consistency of execution and a smooth transition following personnel changes, including anticipated retirements. As with previous retirements, Schoenstein’s executive and investment responsibilities will be assigned across the firm over a 12-month transition period. Importantly, decisions for Jensen’s three investment strategies will continue to be made collectively by the investment team.
“We are grateful to Eric for his tireless dedication to our clients and the firm over the last 22 years,” said Rob McIver, Managing Director, President and Portfolio Manager at Jensen Investment Management. “Among his many contributions to the firm, Eric is noted for his stewardship of Jensen’s collaborative investment process.”
